 New dengue cases in Pakistan's three largest cities in the past day include 91 in Islamabad, 324 in Karachi, and 191 in Punjab.


Islamabad has reported 96 new cases, Karachi has recorded 323, and Punjab has reported 191 in the previous 24 hours, indicating that the country is in the midst of a dengue outbreak.

Islamabad's District Health Officer, Zaeem Zia, reports that 96 new cases of dengue fever have been detected in the city in the past 34 hours. Dengue has already claimed the lives of at least four people in Islamabad this year.

According to the Health Department of Sindh, 324 new cases and two deaths have been registered in Karachi during the past 24 hours. Karachi has seen over 2500 confirmed dengue cases this month, with 11 fatalities.

Data issued by the Sindh health department on Saturday showed that as many as 403 persons were diagnosed with dengue yesterday in Karachi, nearly double the 202 instances reported the day before.

In addition, in the last 24 hours, 191 additional cases were reported from Punjab. Punjab's health secretary claimed that out of 104 recorded cases, 84 were from Rawalpindi, 60 from Lahore, and ten from Gujranwala.

This year, there have been more than 3,288 confirmed dengue cases in Punjab, with an additional 1,337 suspected cases. At the same time, the virus's spread has claimed four people's lives.

Saturday morning, 188 new cases were recorded from the Indian province of Punjab.

The Secretary of Health for the province of Punjab has issued a statement revealing that 80 new cases of dengue virus have been found in the city of Rawalpindi over the past 24 hours.
